Grades 7th and 8th
Complete Newton’s Second Law of motion math problems assigned to you within your google classroom.
Tomorrow you will have your entrance ticket on the vocabulary words pertaining to Newton’s second law of motion along with the Science world vocabulary located below.
Vocabulary Words:
Newton’s Second Law of Motion- the acceleration of an object is equal to the net force acting on the object divided by the object’s mass.
Circular Motion- any motion in which an object is moving along a curved path
Centripetal Force- a force that acts perpendicular to the direction of motion, towards the center of the curve.
Applied force- a force applied to an object by a person or another object
Virus- an extremely tiny parasite that invades an organism’s body and begins to replicate inside the organisms cells
Mutating- To change; to alter
Incubation- to maintain at a favorable temperature and in other conditions promoting development, as cultures of bacteria or prematurely born infants.
Inactivated- to maintain at a favorable temperature and in other conditions promoting development, as cultures of bacteria or prematurely born infants.
Immune system- is the body's defense against infectious organisms and other invaders.
Pandemics- (of a disease) prevalent over a whole country or the world.
Pneumonia- lung inflammation caused by bacterial or viral infection, in which the air sacs fill with pus and may become solid.
Universal Vaccine- A universal flu vaccine is flu vaccine that is effective against all influenza virus strains regardless of the virus subtype or viral genetic drift.
Virologist- is the study of viruses
Protein- is an important component of every cell in the body. Hair and nails are mostly made of protein.

Transfer Vocabulary words on to your index card
closed system- does not exchange matter or energy with the environment.
energy transfer- process of energy moving from one object to another without changing form
energy transformation- process in which one form of energy is converted to another form of energy
law of conservation of energy- states that energy can be transformed from one form to another, but it cannot be created or destroyed
open system- exchanges matter or energy with the environment
nonrenewable energy resource- available in limited amounts or is used faster than it can be replaced in nature
renewable energy resource- is replaced as fast as, or faster than, it is used
resource- stock or supply of materials, money, or other assets that can be used as needed
work- transfer of energy that occurs when a force makes an object move in the direction of the force while the force is acting on the object
