Roller Coasters In addition to being both scary and fun, roller coasters are carefully designed based on scientific principles including the physics of energy. As a coaster is pulled up the first hill, its potential energy increases. This potential energy transformed into kinetic energy as the coaster moves downhill. As it travels up the next hill, its kinetic energy transforms into potential energy. Each hill on the track is shorter than the previous hill because some of the original potential energy transforms to thermal energy due to friction.
Reminder- Entrance ticket will be this upcoming Wednesday on vocabulary words.
