Fun Fact

Chemical Formulas for Proteins
Our bodies rely on the proteins found in meats and dairy products. Proteins are complicated compounds made carbon, hydrogen and other elements. Each molecule is extremely large and has a high number of atoms. As a result, proteins have complex chemical formulas. For example, hemoglobin, the chemical that carries oxygen in blood, is made of protein. There are different types of hemoglobin, but the formula for the most common one is C2952H4664N812O832S8Fe4.
